ASUS drivers for V8200 Deluxe

Hey guys,

I bought my Geforce 3 around about this time last year, when we were around about the 12 to 14 detonator versions. And since Asus have only released new drivers for the Geforce 4. Well I assume these are compatible with the Geforce 3 so I downloaded them, but when I install them they keep on installing this Asus keyboard controller device and windows goes into one of those looping restart things and ends up doing a core dump every third restart???

Anyone know what the hell this stupid device is? and why on earth it's associated with graphics card drivers?

I neither know what Windows (9x, NT, 2000, XP?) nor what driver version you use or which site you check concerning driver updates for your Asus card, but what I know is that Asus is probably the manufacturer which updates its drivers the most.

But: You have to check the German Asus Ftp Server, there you get an updated driver almost every month. I personally own a Asus 7700 (Geforce2) and I never had problems using any of Asus' drivers, be it with Win98 or now with XP.

OK, to make it short:

ftp://ftp.asuscom.de/pub/ASUSCOM/TREIBER/VGA/V8xx0/

There you will find the latest drivers, updated a week ago, version 29.41 (Win2kXP) resp 29.40 (Win9x), work flawlessly with my GF2 and WinXP.

Yep Same here. Just installed Windows XP Pro with an Asus Ge-Force3 Deluxe using the 29.41 drivers from Germany and they work flawlessly.

Asus Drivers

There we go just install 'em and that stupid ASUS OSD keyboard Filter Driver F**K up windows boot up again. I just gets so far into the installation and hangs.

I ran bootvis through safemode and that shows that the driver it hangs on is guess what the keyboard filter thingy.

I always though that asus were the best graphics cards you could possibly get I've always loved my 8200 deluxe but now I'm getting pissed with 'em.

Use the Nvidia Drivers that keyboard filter on the asus drivers sucks big time.

Nvidia have all the sterio and capture drivers and rox in winXP

Asus Drivers are bloatware

Yeah, Asus Drivers Suck...
I own a V7700(Gf2 GTS), updated the bios myself to (3.15.0102)
Asus only has updates for V7100(Gf2 MX)...

Just Download the official Nvidia drivers.

and download RivaTuner to fix your 60Hz problems (if you have Windows XP/2000)

I've been using Detonators all along

I've always used detonators off the nvidia site since I bought my first geforce back when they were first released.

But then when I got my ASUS card I used they're drivers until the nvidia drivers surpassed 'em by version number (as at the time ASUS drivers ended at 14.12 or something like that)

well since then the detonators have worked fine and I've had no problems with my graphics but I just though i'd see what the newer ASUS drivers were like. but as you can see I keep on getting the same problem over and over again. What the hell is that stupid keyboard device for?? and haven't they noticed how it hang everyone's machines??

i allowed it to install the driver first time, when it was done went into the device manager and rolled back to microsofts original driver and then rebooted (ignoring the attempt to install asus keyboard driver again). On reboot all was fine (mine didnt crash with them installed but keyboard wouldnt work- had to boot into safe mode and remove them 1st time).

I find that the stereo drivers on this worked better for me than the detonators, but newer version of detonators out now so back on them anyway lol.
