I thought that divx belonged to 'the scene'... but when divx.com closed their source and went commercial we learned otherwise. I will either use the pirated version or try some of the opensourced divx codecs. Besides, to me it seems silly paying for a codec. They could have worked with other opensourced programmers and shared their code. Maybe its because they started working with Fraunhofer?

This sucks,
I thought divx is a cool "free" thing, but times change... I think I must use SVCD like my friends now ^_^

I will never pay for Divx, SVCD is better, by the way, you can`t play DIVX in a DVD player, only on your pc. DIVX can kiss my ass, it sucks. So if somebody from divx.com is reading this, FUCK YOU.

And if i need it for some avi movies downloaded from Morpheus than i will download it from a appz site. Stupid Divx cock suckers.

As there are 2 Divx 5 packages and one is free then the the divx 5 codec is free. The charge must be for added tools.

I'd happily pay for an SVCD/DVD emulator to enable playing of Divx movies in a standard home DVD player.

Oh well... thats wishing a bit too much eh! hehe

Are you crazy? A divx movie from 800 mb is still shit in full screen. Divx cannot beat DVD, DVD is also one CD but far more better quality +DGT sound, specialy now there are DVD burners. So DIVX is useles now.
