9800SE softmod x 9800pro ,really works?

Hello my friends I wish to know if there's some boost performance in a 9800SE with softMod(like Omegadrivers have) between a 9800pro?

And I wish to know too if there's some link with roundup of two graphic cards(9800SE softmod x 9800Pro)

what is best in softmod , 9800SE SoftMod or 9700pro SoftMod ?

Thanks for all answer

1. 9700 PRO to 9800PRo is basically just Overclocking ...

2. 9800SE to PRO mod = enabling all disabled pixel pipelines ... rest is the same ...
I tried that 2 times and failed 2 times ... basically the softmod via omega driver works perfect ....
absolutely no problem after install you soon have the 9800PRO

BUT BUT BUT

Ati is disabling the pixel pipelines not just for fun ... they are defective !!!
If you have luck and I mean REAL luck ... you will get one where the errors are very very few ...
also they will not come in any game ...
HALO was unplayable for me with white dots all on the screen ... while wacraft III was totally error free ....
all in all i DO NOT recommend getting a SE expecting it to be moddable ...
a 9700PRO is a much better choice ... but since the avail. of 9700 is dramatically low ... the 9800PRO is even a better choice ...

so my advice is ... get a 9800 PRO there you get the MOST and the most SECURE bang for ya money ... if ya can get a much cheaper 9700PRO take it ...

9800SE performs ~13.000 3dmark2k1SE and a 9800 PRO (modded ses or original PRO) ~18.000

9800SE sucks Big Grin

they are not defective on all cards - several batches of 9800SE actually use the 9800 chip.
theres no harm in trying to see if yours are one of those.

no engine needs to be updated - if good coded - on newer card ... 99% of all games should work as before but faster Big Grin
dunno what FPS you have now ... and also dunno what CPU u got but with a 9800PRO you simply do not have to worry about frames Big Grin it just runs
2 days ago I tried FarCry and with max details it worked very well

C'mon guyz, dont be so negative about it!

I bought a Club3D 9800SE and have succesfully modded it to 9800PRO (and more). The default clocks are core 380 / mem 680 with only 4 pipelines by default (9800SE). When U unlock the other 4 (softmod) pipes, U get 9800PRO since it has the same clocks as the 9800SE. I have managed to OC the card to the level of 9800XT (core 412 / mem 730) and it worked great, no artifacts! That didn't stop me so I went on to find the limits for the core & memory. I reached the limit at 450 for core and 750 for memory with the stock cooler. Currently I'm seeking for a proper cooling system for my card. I think Zalman ZM80D-HP would do just fine, do you think?

Any, here are the cold facts:

3DMark 2001
---------------
9800SE -> some 14500 points (dunno exactly, tested it only once like this)
9800PRO -> 17450 points
9800 with core 450 / mem 750 -> 19655 points

A gain of total 5000 points, not bad huh ?!

3DMark 2003 - 6369 points
