I'm very impressed with what this chip can handle. I'm running at 181Mhz FSB x 11.5 @ 2081Mhz with DEFAULT voltage. Using a Volcano 11+ & temps are below 40 degrees at 2500rpm. It will be interesting to see just what this chip can reach with increased voltage.

Don't get your hopes up TOO high. It's purely the luck of the draw. Some times you get a race horse and some times you get a lemon. Just raise the voltage slowly and watch your CPU temperature closely.

I have mine running on a 200 FSB with the multiplier @ 11.5. Shows up as an Athlon XP 3200+ (400 FSB). I did not have to mess with the voltage at all and has been running stable for over four months. Gotta love it!

Oh :hail: how did you all manage to keeps the CPU Temp below 40c. I have an athlon 2400+ Thoroughbred with Volcano 7++ and the temp is about 47c.
Can you all share some experience with me? Oh by the way i am not O\C yet Voltage at "AUTO" and my PC is in an air-con room about 24c. Thanks in advance and the 2400+ rocks too.

the VERY problem all around is that ppl. trust Mainboard given temps ...

remember those Temp are UNIQUE for any motherboard Type you CAN NOT compare temp with two different Motherboards !!!
the NF7 is the best example .... even differen BIOS versions give different results
The only thing that counts is what YOU FEEL!!!! is the cooler hot or not !?

my old epox even reported me 65° in normal operation while one showed 32° and now with Abit I'm on 42°
so don't take anything on those values !!!
there is only a hot cooler or a warm cooler .... and you can see how much warmer it get when you OC that or that much
but compare is impossible !!!!

That is so true my Bios says temp is 52deg, Case sensor is 42deg and MBM reports a temp of 33deg with my Aero7+ turned right down, I have no idea of which one of these is correct and now way of finding out, you just have to buy decent\reputable gear to even stand a chance of being safe in the knowledge that its not going to go pop.

As for 2500+ Bartons unlocked they will run at 3200+ speeds with a FSB of 400mhz however as always "OVERCLOCKING IS AT YOUR OWN RISK" give your self the best chance, by buying a good quality cooler also case fans can reduce your CPU temp just by increasing Airflow.

I guess i need to agreed with that, i have updated my MOBO bios, cause it fix the Temp detaction. Now i am at 41c. Anyway thanks for the advices.

I just built a 2500+ system with an A7N8X Deluxe 1.04 mobo (1007 BIOS)and 2 512mb sticks of Corsair PC3200 a few days ago. It's running at 12.5x multiplier and 185mhz fsb (2312mhz) at 1.77 volts. With the stock AMD fan and an additional 80mm case fan blowing into the CPU fan it's showing 102 degrees Fahrenheit. I had a 2100+ running at 2640mhz (12x with 220 fsb @1.85 volts and 3 512mb sticks of Corsair PC3500) in the same mobo last spring with much better cooling in a different case...

My CPU temps average around 45C. I have a temperature probe on the bottom of my CPU.

I am now running at 181Mhz x 12.5 @ 2265Mhz at 1.675V. This is a solid increase in speed considering I've only upped the juice by .25

I've been running TOAST in high priority mode since last night with no problems.

Looks like now I need to get myself some PC3200 to replace my modest PC2700 set to obtain the almighty 400Mhz FSB. LOL :-P

a must is high air flow not just gettin sucked in but blown out...
modded n/south bridge coolers in advisable for high fsb...
