11250 3dMarks with 9700 Pro

Hi guys,

I am using the Hercules Radeon 9700 Pro card with the 6193 drivers.

But I only get 11250 3dMarks with my rig. All anti-alasing is off.

Is this score normal?

My rig:

Athlon XP 2200
Hercules Radeon 9700 Pro
512 MB CL 2,5 DDR 333 Kingston @ CL 2
Epox 8k5a3+ mobo

well I think it's not that normal. go and have a look at you settings, cos i get 13236 pts in cl2.5,22 mode and 13981 in cl2 mode and I have only bad m-tec ram

PC ->
XP 2200+
ATI RADEON 9700 Pro Reference Board
512 DDR 333 ram (m-tec, with original cl2.5,3,3)
ASUS A7V333 mobo

Yeah, I get 12480 with my GeForce4 Ti4400 & Athlon 2000+, so I'd say thats not right somewhere.

1300 is not that much 4 an xp 2200 i guess...
my xp 2200 system made 14700 with the 6178 ver., now with 6200
i get some 145xx, and the only difference r corsair rams, wich should not make that much now, 145-146 fsb is the limit 4 this system...
and drivin` at 145 km/H is not really faster in a porsche than in a train...
so, maybe u can tweak a little more out of your new honey...

Mhh.. more than 13356 is not possible.

Ok, i have nothing overclocked, I only setted the memory to more agressive timing.
I don t tried to overclock s.th.

Maybe I have a slower preproduction card ? Caused I received this card directly from hercules to write a review.

But when the card is that much slow i can not write a good review.

Best
Niels

16000 + more is no prblem here though, of course not with my xp 2200...
benching my p4 2.6@3.17 with my 2nd 9700 i got 16500 with 6178,
16300 with 6193 and now 16000 with the 6200`s...
but non-overclocked i don`t have any ideas what the scores would/should
b like...
benching is fun and a good test 4 reliability, but 2 or 3 frames more in
i.e. botmatch ut2k3 mean a really visuable gain, 10 frames in 3dmark
r meaningless, just my2cents

@degger : why not try 351/351 with stock cooling? worked fine 4 my 3
ati`s, even with fsb overclocked this was the borderline 4 stock-cooling,
without the losses in stability some peepz exposed..
have fun

oh yeah

 to all the overclockers -> your scores are not competitional! With a higher FSB it is NORMAL that you get freaking high scores. A 13500 points with normal stock DDR333 on a 2200+ not overclocked IS NORMAL. The xp2200+ ati combo is fast, but you won't take the stars from the sky with a NORMAL config.
So, if you are disappointed by the score you get with you hercules, only 13xxx.. , you shouldn't probably read the articles about freaking high scores on mad overclocked systems, or visit the homepages "YEAH -> 22000 pts in 3dmark with my p4 clocked at 4 GHZ!!!". The ati is the best card you get in store right now. the xp2200+ is also still more than a average computer. I have to work all day on a PIII 450 with 256 RAM, Vanta, and UDMA 33 harddisks!! this thing is awfully slow.
And show me one game which is SLOW on your computer... I don't think that you'll find only ONE today.
Ok, you may now think, if it's not faster today, how could it be tomorrow. A small example: only with optimized drivers, nvidia pushed the gf2 by more than 25% from the first drivers to the last. The ati is still new, and so are the drivers. The catalyst 2.4 (beta 6193) is the fastest driver til now on my system, with a 10% faster pixelshader performance than the catalyst 2.3. So you see, that there is more coming.. That's all I have to say right now.
