Why Does Windows Still Suck?

Why do PC users put up with so many viruses and worms? Why isn't everyone on a Mac?

The answer to why "people" still use Windows is easy.
"People" are stupidheads.

MAC isn't better or safer, creator of wroms and viriuses just don't bother to create them to hassle the 8 MAC users in the world (kidding LOL) though some have surfaced already anyway.
Running Windows since version 95, now on XP Pro, for some 9 years now, never had a virus or worm, guess it depends on the precautions someone takes.

Yes, I had the same thought... its probably mostly whos actually using the computer. I've not had a single virus actually do any damage to any PC computer I've owned. If you download a file called "free-porn-and-lots-of-it.exe" and run it... blame yourself. With the exception for the Blaster virus, theres not been a lot of them that actually executed themselfs without user interaction.

Oh yeah... I'd never, ever, use a computer made by a company that thought so little of me that they removed one mouse button to make it easier to use it. If I wanted that, I'd go to Toys'r'us and pick up a Sony "My first Computer". Thats garanteed to get no viruses too. :P

Why, because when childeren write viruses they want to cause the most damage. Mac just dont have enough users. Windows is widely used by almost everyone world wide. So if Mac was the OS used world wide, they would have a major problem just like Microsofts OS has. Cant believe you couldn't figure out that one on your own!

Bwahahaha.........

What a *****.

Lets all ditch our PC's, and become a MacW*nker and pay stupid OTT prices for "Up it's own arse" hardware.

Infact, the whole Mac world and it's users are totally up their own arses.
Steve Jobs, is a *****. With his "Lifestyle" hardware, thats double the cost of PC hardware, and half as powerful.

Oh, and lets blame Windows, and PC's for w*nkers out there who get kicks from writing viruses to screw up peoples lives.

I HATE Macs with a passion. I hate all the snobbery, I hate all the Superiority that Mac w*nkers THINK they have.
I hate the "Everyone's the same" approach. It's like the Mac world are full of sheep, or perhaps Lemmings.

I love to be different, to be unique. And my PC IS unique. At least you get to be "Unique" with the PC, and build to YOUR requirements, and WITHOUT the cost.

Hell, just to make a point, here in the UK a Mac version of the ATI 9800 Pro, costs the same as a PC X800 Pro.

Go figure.

It's strange how someone can still be a complete beginner after 15 years of using a computer.

Just for the record. I've never installed anything from windowsupdate.com, no patches or fixes or anything. I've never been running a firewall. Never have I had an antivirus app running. And never ever have I noticed even the slightest problem in these 4 years that I have been using WinXP Pro.

I've downloaded NOD32 on some occassion just to prove the fact that I have no infections. What a waste of time. Having problems with the computer is up to the user.

This is what you get if you connect to the internet without an AV and a little bit of common sense. Windows Update anyone? How about turning on the XP firewall?

Here are some basic steps for the novice:

1. Before connecting to the internet install AV and turn on the XP Firewall.
2. Windows Update, install all Updates especially SP2

Don't take some Mac user's advice

Windows might have it's problems but so do Macs.

I will never go the Mac route because of freedom... freedom to choose what hardware and software I put on my PC. On a Mac you don't have the freedom to build your machine out of anything you want, you have to use what Jobs wants you to use.

I love my PC for this very reason.
