Whatever happened to the dawn of cinematic computing?

The last few weeks and (specifically) days have opened up a huge can of worms regarding the GeForceFXs architecture and abilities - A far cry from the heady days when CineFX was paper launched to much excitement last year. As a result of all this, I've put together an article examining exactly what has happened to this architecture from day one, and whether 'cinematic rendering' will ever be an achievable target with it. You can read my thoughts and findings here. Please feel free to comment on the article in our forums.

Sorry, I just submitted the story from my account and forgot to credit Hanners on the piece. It's a well thought out read, my hat is off to him. Nice job Hanners! |
