WD just released a network-attached storage (NAS) device. While the the consumer-centric My Book line already has networked devices, the ShareSpace is intended to take WD into the level of something like a NetGear ReadyNas, Buffalo Technology TeraStation, or one of the many other four disk NAS units currently available.
These devices appeal to advanced home users as well as the SOHO crowd, so it’s a lot more than just adding extra capacity to your setup–they bring along the security of RAID5, 4TB capacity (out of the box), accessibility from anywhere, and much more.
