When you copy music media files between Microsoft Windows Media Player and a supported portable device, copy operations may take longer to perform as more items are added to the Media Library. Specifically, the time to copy increases exponentially as the number of items in the Media Library increases.
This behavior occurs because the player must continually enumerate through the Media Library to support certain features. The player enumerates even while the Media Library increases.
Under the current implementation (before you apply this update), you can perform the following actions during the copy operation: Add or remove items that are to be copied to the device.
Continually update the PDA pane with the media items that have just been copied.
