WindowBlinds is the part of Object Desktop lets you change your title bars, scrollbars, radio buttons, Start bar and nearly every other part of the Windows GUI. It works on all versions of Windows. It is the Microsoft certified way of adding visual styles to Windows XP.

Object desktop and its family of addons is nothing but an interfearance to anyone using software that relies on or uses 3rd party plugins.
Photoshop for instance in conjunction with extensis photo toolbar. Object desktop will by defult not allow photoshop to load extensis phototoolbar.

okay they are much more skins available for windowblinds, but this app uses too much resources!
also, it makes many appz crash(e.g.clonecd), and not on my pc only.

the best GUIreplacement tool is style-xp. im using it for many months without probs...but, if you want a slowing down and crashing app just use wb!!!

im warning you...

Both comments might have been relative to much earlier versions of Windowblinds, but are now completely erroneous with the newer codebase. In fact, on Windows XP, Windowblinds is actually FASTER (depending on skin used) than Microsofts own window styles. There are also far fewer issues of incompatibility with user software, including recent versions of Photoshop.

Now, if you prefer using some hacked DLL file to accomplish skinning only a fraction of the objects available, that's your choice. Most people, including Microsoft, prefer Windowblinds. If Windowblinds slows your system down, then you have far more problems than is caused by Windowblinds.

Note, I do not work for Stardock, I've simply been a very satisfied customer for many years, starting with Object Desktop for OS/2 and now using Object Desktop for Windows on my WinXP Pro system. I've used Windowblinds since the beginning, the version out now is incredibly efficient and powerful, especially on XP systems.

okay, actually im not trying the newest WB-ver yet!
so if fuzzywuzzy`s post is true, im sorry!

but, what im said was true on older versions(im sure for that, cause myself was a top skinner on wincustomize in the past, and im using wb for a long time too)!

ok, everybody have the right to check the better gui-rplcmt. for himself.

but one thing is for sure, everything is better than the standard WIN-XP skins....LOL

I've used the current WB on an AMD K6-2 400MHz machine (has nvidia Vanta 16meg PCI and 192MB PC100 sdram) running WinXP and there is no slowdown at all, no difference whether WB is running or just standard XP styles. On my P4 1.7GHz w/256MB PC800 RDRAM and GeForce2MX WB is definitely no problem. And it just gets better and better, now skinning far more objects than anything else, and very efficiently, taking advantage of everything XP has to offer.
