I wish they would fix the XP software instead of wasting time on old stuff. Nobody uses Windows 98 and ME anymore. |

Really? Not everyone want to feed M$ when they release a new OS. Win98se is working just fine for home use. |

Don't be an idiot, Windows 9x are still WAY more popular than Windows XP/2000 are. |

i had win me, it used to crash daily, sometimes even 2 or more times daily. i have win xp since 3 months now, since i got it my computer crashed 4 (four) times. that is the difference between win98/me and 2000/xp. cheers |

You'd be surprised. More people still use Win9x products than 2000 or XP combined. And most of them are still using 98 or 98SE... not even WinME quite yet! |

Windows XP is a fantastic OS, it's what Windows ME should have been. Everyone I know has made the upgrade and none of them have had problems. Even my grandmother uses XP If you have old hardware, yes, there is a slim chance you might run into a conflict, but I've seen XP work with some old hardware with no troubles. As a precaution, just hold off until you decide to upgrade to newer hardware... -PharCyde |

If you can't manage w98se to be stable either you have unsual hardware with BAD driver (ie 3DFX or Creative sound card) or (more likely) you have no clue on how to install/maintain a computer correctly. My Abit KT7A is rock solid and it saw 2 Adaptec controllers, 1 Diamond sound MX300, 1 Creative Audigy (this lead to some instabilities because of usual Creative driver quality. but thanks to Norton Ghost the box was back on his feed in 3 minutes), 2 Voodoo 12Mb, 1 PCI NIC sharing IRQ with AGP slot. There is a saying: 'If you don't know what you are doing DON'T DO IT' |

98 and 98se are by and far the most used os to date. I dual boot using 98se and 2000...no since in getting that fancy pants xp when you can't play real games worth a damn and it has more holes than my old shorts. And if I can't afford to replace them, I definately can't afford a 98/2000 mixed breed of an os. |
