Looks fake to me. Why does it use Thermaltake's GeForce4 heatsinks? |

LOL! Dammit, you beat me to it....was going to post the same inquiry. Besides, it must be a ***** to synchronize 2 GPUs on the APG port and 2 on a PCI And all the RAM is in the PCI part. |

they look identical theres an equal amount of ram on both boards.. if it indeed is real... it would make sense for professional use.. otherwise it would just be way to expensive |

The specs say: 256MB x 4 unified memory Looking at my 9700, there are 128MB in 8 BGA chips, for 16 MB ea That thing has 16 BGA chips in each face for a total of 256MB per face. That's 1024MB of RAM....512MB in each card. The big question comes in how can you sincronize an AGP4X/8X card into running at the same speed as a PCI Bus based one. I am of course assuming something similar to what 3dfx used to do. I'd love to know more about what moves that monster. |

I dont think it transferes much data (if any at all) across the PCI bus. Although it might use the PCI bus for instruction and/or data to cordinate the two cards together. Most likely there is a custom connection between the two cards feeding data between them both. (ala voodoo 2 SLI) |

"Selectable screen resolution up to 1600x1200 @ 85 Hz or 1920x1080 @ 60 Hz" professional, yea right. no professional will use it just because of the low resolution and even lower Hz. still, if its a fake its very well made. |

this is real. this card is used in a professional flight simulator (google for simfusion, and you'll find it). the home user won't be able to put it in a pc to play with (would be nice, but isn't). the r300 is built to work in a multi-graphics-processor config, and it is really used in professional flight simulators. no fake |

Pilot: *Shits his pants* Instructor: "Nah its okay, we got an ATI as graphic unit, need to wait for the next driver release" Co-Pilot & Pilot: "Duh." |

Remember Thermaltake also ships their heatsinks to OEMs and the like. The heatsink/fan combo that it has probably provides the adequate cooling required for each chip, despite the cooler originally being designed for the GF4 series of cards. |

Actually those GF4 coolers might be better than many other around, but the default clips are not the same size of the 9700...then again that card is custom built. |
