GideonTech.com published a guide about sharing cellphone broadband

Many of you have probably seen commercials lately pushing heavily for mobile broadband. It's all the rage for road warriors who need to get high speed internet access while out in the field with their laptops. In past years, many have found ways to tether their smartphones to their laptops to get access. Although this is a great way to get mobile broadband, some providers have been known to shut down accounts doing this. Things have progressed quite far ahead lately where laptop EVDO and EDGE PCMCIA and USB cards are affordable to the masses.

High speed wireless cards are great but with one downfall -- it's a one user device. Or is it? In a recent trip outdoors, I was scratching my head trying to find a way to bring broadband access to 20+ people. I had one Verizon Wireless laptop USB card and a basic 802.11g wifi router. After tinkering around for an hour or two, I found a way to share that single cellphone connection amongst everyone.
