Running SLI on ATi RD580 Mainboard

It has always been the dream that SLI can run on non NV boards. A user sent in pictures of his ASUS RD580 board ASUS A8R32-MVP running a pair of 6600GT SLI.

It's a little perplexing as to why you would want to do this. Now, *maybe* (a big maybe considering performance still not as good as SLI) running crossfire on nvidia boards, but SLI on an ATI board. It's like yay, let's run SLI on a board that's not as good as real SLI boards (unless you already made the mistake and are just upgrading your cards). Good job on getting it to work, just not sure on how practical it is, much like quad-sli. |
