A new version of the RivaTuner is out.
In addition and to complement the new GeForce4 release we can now bring you RivaTuner v2 RC10. One of the very best GeForce Tweak Utilities available. This update supports the new 23.xx drivers and allows full GeForce4 MX/Titanium Overclocking ! Here are a few changes out of dozens:

What´s new? Full Detonator 27.xx support. Added databases for the Detonators 23.11, 27.00, 27.10 and 27.20 for both Windows 9x and Windows 2000/XP. SoftQuadro scripts are no longer supported and will not work with the Detonator 27.xx. The reason is that NVIDIA has implemented SoftQuadro protection again and I do tired of endless protection/antiprotection chase and it eats a lot of my time. Probably I'll bring you SoftQuadro 2.0 scripts once againg, but now I'm concentrated on adding ATI Radeon 8500 support to RivaTuner and it is the primary task in my plan for today. Added fake DDR problem workaround for GeForce4 MX boards (thanks to Hilbert Hagedoorn for testing RivaTuner with GeForce4 MX 420). It is pity, but this problem (double displayed memory clock frequency), which is widely spead on GeForce2 MX with 4Mx16 memory modules, also appears on GeForce4 MX boards. To address this issue RivaTuner just halves displayed memory clock frequency on GeForce4 MX boards when SDR memory is detected and the MPLL coefficients are programmed to 300MHz or above. Added GeForce4 support to the built-in 60Hz refresh rate fix for Windows2000/XP. Added support for 27MHz reference frequency to the low level hardware overclocking module. This allows RivaTuner's low level overclocking module to work with GeForce4 boards (thanks to Andrew Worobyew for testing RivaTuner with GeForce4 Ti 4400). Download Local download

2x BAD that it doesn't support 27.xx NVMax is oke, all other "tweaks" allowed by Rivatuner (and others) are for developers only, and can only harm performance!!! NVMax is for the regular guy, not for the PRO you obviously think you are. |

Can only harm perforance eh? What about the 256 mb burst mode? what about OpenGL window flipping? What about OpenGL texture shapening? What about Fastwrites Strap mode? What about forcing multitexturing? What about DirectX video acceleration enabling? |

all default enabled !!! 256MB you'll need 256 MB. OpenGL windowflipping --> default control panel (included in NVMax) OpenGL texture sharpening (anisotropic filtering)--> default control panel (included in NVMax) Fastwrites Strap mode --> Fastwrites Suck, instable (included in NVMax) Multi texture forced? --> only for old games... jeez DirectVA --> default enabled (read inf file, or plow through the registry) |

fastwrites suck? er... why? they increase performance at no extra cost imho, that dosent count as suckyness and, btw, i dont see opengl window flipping in nvmax, or texture sharpening (its not antistropic filtering, it is a seperate option). Also in nvmax, you can enable fastwrites, but not fastwrites strap, and as for multitexturing, it is useful for Unreal Tournament as it is not called for within the game. |

> 2x BAD that it doesn't support 27.xx You'll be surprised, but it does. Furthermore, currently none other tweakers allows to tweak 27.xx specific options like OGL LOD bias adjustment and texture format settings. But I'm sure that it will appear in NVMax soon too. > NVMax is oke, all other "tweaks" allowed by Rivatuner (and others) are for developers only, and can only harm performance!!! Really? PowerUser tool can do it, the main D3D/OGL/System dialogs (for rookies) cannot. BTW b'll be surprised if I'll say that almost the NVMax's tweaks are ripped from other tweakers |

fastwrites will will reboot your computer in some cases if it is heavily overclocked, especially the video card. for professional overclockers its just plain simple stupid. |
