I don't know why I bother reading NGO stuff. It's usually inane and about as useful as a condom for a Eunuch. Anything, this one is paticularly confusing: After hours of listening to music and then a lot of gaming I can easily rate the sound quality. Realtek Audio Driver v3.72a Great sound quality. nVidia Audio Driver v4.62 Average or Poor sound quality but you will find out why very shortly. So I read on about why it's so average or poor. And this is what followed (ie: very shortly afterwards) EAX Games: Realtek Audio Driver v3.72a Poor EAX support. Doesnt work well. nVidia Audio Driver v4.62 EAX works great. Other Games: Realtek Audio Driver v3.72a Somehow the 6 channels playback Doesnt work on Half-Life 2. Noticed some cracking noises time to time. nVidia Audio Driver v4.62 Perfect. And that's it. As far as I can tell, the ability of the Nvidia solution to play EAX, work on HL2 and not produce crackling noises somehow relegates it to "Average or Poor". Jesus fecking Christ, whoever put together that article should be fucked in the ass with a rake. |
