So you've spent a small fortune on a flat-panel HDTV, a killer audio system, and monthly tithes to the cable or satellite gods. Now you're ready to build a sleek HTPC. Why spoil the view with a cheesy chassis?

We recently reviewed a pair of HTPC cases from nMedia Systems that offered a lot of value but lacked the aesthetic and visceral characteristics that appeal to videophiles, home entertainment buffs, and system builders willing to pay a bit more for the finer details. Along with good looks, efficient cooling, and noise insulation, there are a number of design elements that distinguish a good chassis from a great one. Today, we'll be looking at a pair of cases?the Ahanix MCE701 and the Antec Fusion?to see whether they're fit to house your HTPC.
