Utility to set PCI Latency and prevent game stutter or simply improve FPS .
This tweak is an important one, and one well worth checking into. Apparently, newer high-end video cards hog PCI latency for no known reason.
This makes other components wait for access and causes stutters and lower frame rates. If you adjust the latency, users are reporting big improvements.

6800GT AGP I've seen no improvement at all with this. Framerate does not improve and no stuttering goes away, not that there's any stuttering to begin with. This probably depends a lot on what combination of hardware you got. |

Try with DXTweaker to enable triple buffering. That should enable smoother frame rates, eg. kills the stuttering. |

I'm sticking with V2.0. For some reason, I can only see my Secondary video device, not my Primary. And this is on both my PCs, one with a X800, and my main one with a 6800GT. |

Yeah, I've got the old 9600XT and can only see the entry for the secondary |

Not really recommended to use with games that are punkbuster enabled as that will probably get you tagged as a cheater (dxtweaker fiddles with the display lists generated and sent to the graphics card, so does many cheating programs that make walls transparent etc). Punkbuster wouldn't neccessarily differentiate between "good" fiddling and "bad" fiddling. The warden used by world of warcraft might also crack down on this program, for the same reason. Could get you banned from your player account, would be very bad. WoW doesn't need this program anyway I might add, as there is a triple buffering checkbox in the graphics options config screen. |
