If your video card does not support hardware transform and lighting, it will make the system CPU work harder to do the transforms and lighting in software. Video cards that support hardware transform and lighting include the Nvidia GeForce series, and the ATI Radeon 7200+ cards.

Unreal Tournament 2003 Linux patch & Win32/Linux servers v2186 : Epic Games has released updated dedicated servers to run Unreal Tournament 2003, the multiplayer FPS created with Digital Extremes, on Win32 and Linux. There is a Win32 full install with the executable and minimum data files to run a standalone server for the most recent v2186, along with a patch for the Linux server, and as usual the server requires a server-only CD key that you can obtain For Free. Finally, the Linux client patch for version 2186 is available as well.

Pre 2186 version of DefOpenAL32.dll : If you are experiencing sound/ music issues with the 2186 patch you might want to try to replace DefOpenAL32.dll in your UT2003/System directory with an older version which can be found here.
