Here's a new set of Forceware Drivers in the shape of 97.02 WHQL for Windows XP/Media Center Edition! This driver only supportes Nvidia's GeForce 8800 GTX and GeForce 8800 GTS GPUs in original form, yet we added a modified .inf file into the archive to make the most GeForce cards compatible with this driver! Date: November 8, 2006
Release Highlights:
Adds support for GeForce 8800 GTX and GeForce 8800 GTS GPUs. New PureVideo technology features allows GeForce 8800 GTX/GTS to achieve a score of 128 in the HQV video quality benchmark: Improved inverse telecine algorithms (2:2 & 3:2 Pull-down Correction) for standard and high definition content. Improved spatial-temporal de-interlacing algorithm (for standard and high definition content). Includes the new NVIDIA Control Panel. Use NVTray provides some extra quality tweaks that both the default NVIDIA tray icon and control panel are lacking. I especially wanted to be able to select more Antialiasing modes, as well as OpenGL and Direct3D options right from the tray icon. Also, the utility is able to run automatically at startup thus making it a bit easier to change my settings before playing a game or running a benchmark. This program requires .NET Framework 2.0 to support a broader range of systems.

Holding off on this driver update...they fubar'd something with battlefield 1942. Under known issues: Battlefield 1942 hangs after playing for a few minutes. Way to go nvidia....you screwed up yet another older game in a driver update. |
