Mr. Perez writes, in response to our previous questions:
I would hardly say ?unwilling? - I responed on Wed and Thursday.
Again - we do not hire ?actors? as marketers.
We recruit NV fans to help in answering tech questions, test new drivers, give updates, etc. They act as our ?voice? if you will.
We do not pay these people. We sometimes give them hardware?but we give out lots of hardware.

I think the consumerist lose some points, at least to me, when they talk about "employee and members of the press" on the gift issue ... I mean, even that self-proclaimed ATI's *****, hardocp guy, never discloses how many gifts ATI gave him ... let alone the other so-called members of the press. It is like saying it's ok for that site's owner(s) to accept advertising dollars for saying certain things; yet it tries to crucify another company having some individuals do it in their own way and time. |

I don't understand what the big deal here is? Nvidia (or AEG under nvidia's contract) looks out for nvidia fans and gives them free hardware for writing nvidia postive stuff which they did nevertheless. That's a great idea to support your fans, why doesn't ATI do the same thing? Most probably because their marketing people always have and still are one of ATI's weakest department. They don't seem to be very effectful. Good job nvidia, always staying ahead of the game! |

Gee, what a double shock! 1. Nvidia the villain again...! 2. Hinkle, the Nvidia apologist/pom-pom waver/shill to the rescue again...! Wonders will never cease... BTW, isn't this two month old news...? A number of "balanced" people in various forums were contacted by certain representatives with a view to experience the marvells of said hardware - and coached on how to best extoll their fabulous (free) new kit... Too bad I told 'em to stick it, else a 7800GTX 512 could've found good use... |
