nVIDIA is planning to increase the transistor but decrease in the size of the processor. They are planning to make a 90 mm Processor this year and a 65mm processor in 2 years

I can't decide if this is FUD or just nVidia having a wet dream on paper! |

Well it's not FUD because it definitely doesn't look like anything they're scared of, but I do somehow think they're living in a pipe dream--at least for CPU speed. We're at barely 4Ghz now, and they expect 100Ghz in 10 years? I think this chart was based on Moore's law, and I think it's slowed since then though. Although who knows, there could be technological innovations that skyrocket CPU performance. I do expect to see at least 20Ghz by that time, if not more than that. Interesting they claim that there will be 32GB of frame buffer size, though. Who knows, these slides could be completely false....Anyone can make up numbers and throw them in a power point chart. |
