WHAT IS THE big news out of Nvidia for CeBIT?
No, not G84 and G86, those are yawners, they are going to be introducing SLI for more than two GPUs.
I know, I know, it did that at least 17 times last year, and in some incarnations it actually worked a bit, if you chose to ignore the rendering errors, crashes and plethora of missing features. Four GPUs and one monitor, what more could you ask for, widescreen? Read on at TheInq

They can't even write drivers for Vista, an OS that has has been more or less done since the middle of this year. At this point I have very little faith in anything they're claiming. They might be able to do what they say, but I bet the drivers don't work for it. |

It's good that it's available for people who need it or want it. It will get bought and used and good things will come from it. I can think of some high end research, R&D, and design/production stuff that will make extensive use of it. The best part of this is that ATI can never, and will never again have anything that is faster then an Nvidia setup. You can pile in as much ATI stuff in your box as you want and it will never beat a computer full of Nvidia stuff. Except on price, but not speed. I'd like to see a glQuake timedemo with 20+ Nvidia GPU's.... can we break 1000fps? 3000x3000x32 res at 85fps+ will soon be a reality. Maybe some day, 64 bit color? |
