Just spotted this bit of news posted over at The Inquirer.
AS PROMISED last week, we have managed to get an official response from top Nvidia chipset man Drew Henry about the lack of support for Sound Storm in its forthcoming Nforce 4 chipsets. And this is what he said:

Sounds like nVidia might have realized that they could compete with Creative in the audio market better if they stopped integrating it and put it on a seperate card. I expect to see nVidia soundcards come out around the time of the nForce 4. |

I want Nforce4 SoundStorm2! I want a sound card that kicks the crap out of Audigy2! I want SounStorm2 to not use any Realtek based codec chip. So it sounds good. |

Ain't that the truth? I'd be proud to buy nVidia if'n they could do that, I really would. I love my audigy2 since it games soooo bloody sweet, but I would love to use ANYTHING other than a Creative product....there just isn't anything out as good for gaming right now. |
