I have to agree here Digital.. I personally own a 9700 np & as much as I like it... Frankly.. The fanATIcs really get under my skin... I have never seen such a pack of uninformed know it all's as the Rage3D forums has.. I think how Nvidia has behaved the past year is dreadfull & I really couldn't care less that Nvidia finally got beat in the Video card market for 1 stinking year.. But I hope Nvidia stomps a mud hole in the ass of ATI just because of the stinking fanATIcs!!! Name brand biased people should wake up.. Be on your own side. Not a freaking hardware makers that is more than happy to charge to 400+ bucs every 6 months for there temporary best video card offering..

My advice to all you video card FREAKS out there is "If you own a radeon 9700/9800 right now, KEEP IT and don't waste anymore of your money just for a few MHz increased in the core, feature wise no need to worry. If your video card sux? Then wait for the R420 from ATI, buy that one and no need to upgrade for the next 5 years! Trust me it's not worth wasting your money every 6-12 months"

LOL!!! Funny how you say to get a R420 when its not out, not had a press release & have no idea how its going to compare with whatever Nvidia may offer. Are you ATI biased?

I trust ATI cards from many reviews and from my own experience. NVIDIA cards are mostly for speed, their graphics is never good compare to ATI cards.

I think your right; some of those guys have no idea and just hang on the words of the more informed posters.
However to a degree it’s understandable, nvidia have supplied them with plenty to flame about.
NVnews is a friendlier place at the moment, but is this because nvidia fans have learnt some humility?
Don’t blame ATI; they have produced a killer product. I’m sure that if nvidia produce a killer comeback card soon your entire post could be rewritten for the nvidia boys.

We dont know how good the nv40 or r420 are yet, hold on and wait first. Early rumours would suggest the r420 is better but you know what rumours are like, they are often rubbish.

well.. its just the brand biased people that used to hang in the nvidia camp that moved to ati, its the people not the compagny that you need to bash.
I remember when owning a Radeon64 could get you killed and idiotes yelling ati sux0r nvidia rul3z.
if nvidia gets the lead again, those people would prolly just move back to nvidia, and we'd have the same problem, just that i wouldnt have to listen to them in the circles that i move.

It is good that you see this already. I cannot say that nVidia has done or said the right things lately, but they are turning things around with their stance on Omega drivers clarified and their public acknowledgement of flickering issues with the 5900 series.

That being said, anytime someone says anything remotely positive about nVidia here, they can be assured to be flamed for it. I don't mind flaming when the company deserves it and I think nVidia deserved alot of what they got. But some people have made it a personal mission to discredit them at every post and I just feel that is completely unfair.

I have seen other posts here in ATI-related news that were singing ATI's praises even to a point of being ridiculous, but I did not see anyone jumping on those posts and flaming them.

nVidia is not out of the woods yet, but they are working to make the best of the current situation and I feel they deserve credit for making the effort to get things back on track.

are you nvidia biased?

its logical to say r420, since its ati that's the leader at the moment. and nvidia havent had much luck with their latest products.

Wow!! Thanks for the kind words guys.. I was really expecting to get flamed pretty hard & when I got up a little bit ago & seen all the replys I thought for sure thats what happened. LOL!!! Some1 mention that its not the companys I should bash.. I was bashing the fanATIcs.. I hold nothing against ATI for making a great card.. Just the fools that constantly spew wrong info in the rage3d forums. Insist that they are correct even when you present them with the info & graphs that show them wrong.. Its just mind boggling!!! LOL.. Also I can agree that if Nvidia takes the crown back I could be saying this about the Nvidiots pretty soon. LOL!!!!

Umm.. I just stated before that I am not name brand biased... I also stated I own a 9700 so how would I be Nvidia biased? Neither of these cards are out.. Why on earth would I choose a side when neither card is even had a review yet!?!?! I can't see how any1 can predict for either company thats not working for the company.. If you go by Nvidia's total history then I would say ATI is in for an ass whooping.. But if you go by the past year then I would say Nvidia is in for a ass whooping.. Its way to early to tell...

From what i know now i would say the R420 will be the leader. Both the R420 and the NV40 will be developements of the current hardware. Im likely to know more about the R420 when i visit ATI next month !!
