The 2.6 SW ide driver causes windows to stick loading screen, yet the 2.5 worked great I've installed the drivers using the 2.5 Ide Peav |

No problem with these drivers on A7N8X-Deluxe Rev 2 with Windows 2000... |

make sure you install the IDE SW Driver manually because it does not automatically. Check version in Hardware Device Manager. |

You said well, Win2k, cause I have the same mobo but with Winxp Sp1 and have the lockup. I tried all new 3 diferente IDE 2.6 drivers, from the 4.35, 4.40 e 5.03 and NONE worked. How stupid can be a company that doesn't test an important driver and "release" in a short time the 3 drivers?!?!?! |

It is not official drivers, you install them at your own risks... (errrr..ok... like the official drivers from nVidia... :-) ) |

Ok, but 2 of them are whql by MS. I think that this is normaly enough to ensure normal compatiblity with most hardware, like this asus mobo, that is(was) a bestseller mobo... |

Well I keep trying the SW IDE drivers every time they are released but still find that the MS driver has 50% less CPU utilisation and the same Access time and transfer rates at least with my A7N8X and a WD PATA drive, but I expect the SATA users may see a benefit. I still with the SW driver for the mo but any little probs and it's rollback time. (Tested with HDTach3.1 & HD_Speed) |

For me, I have two PC with same A7N8X , one with ATI Video and the other with 5900FX. The beta NFORCE IDE drivers work good on the one with ATI Video but not with the 5900FX. Windows XP on both same CPU, same RAM. |

They work fine on my Chaintech VNF3-250 motherboard and WinXP SP1a, including the 2.6 IDE driver. Maybe the 2.6 IDE drivers work better on Nforce 3 250 chipsets? |
