Nvidia has canned NV48 and Nforce 5 C19 chipset

Fido over at The Inquirer reports Nvidia decided to cancel its NV48 project and reliable sources are claiming that you won't see those cards at all. According to the original plan we were supposed to see those cards in Q1 2005 but Nvidia realised that it made no sense at all to push a 20 to 30 MHz faster card.

Taiwan has already seen the first batch of C19 chipsets and tier one motherboard manufacturers are playing with them as we speak. C19 is Nvidia's well kept code name for its Pentium 4 chipset project. Without a doubt, it?s a Pentium 4 SLI capable chipset and it's already started shipping/sampling.

Nice to see that nVidia has decided to quit doing the pointless "refresh" of current cards to confuse and make people upgrade yet again... ;)
