So - is this the old nvDVD repackaged or a DVD codec only for nvidia cards? Anyone know how it stacks up to PowerDVD or WinDVD? I actually hate both of those programs, yet they seem to do a better job than MPC or WMP with DVD codecs. Any input is appreciated as I've just gone back to Nvidia after using a Radeon card for a while. |

This is the latest version of nvidia's DVD Player which is currently the only version which supports PureVideo. If you use at least the 67.03 Forceware drivers in combination with this DVD Decoder version you will get noticeably better DVD quality than with any other DVD Player. At the same time when using both this DVD player and 67.03 you will also get hardware accelerated DVD playback on all 6x00 cards. Hardware accelerated WMV9 HDTV decoding is also available for all 6x00 cards except for the AGP 6800NU, GT and U versions. |

Cool - sounds worth trying. Again, I hate the Intervideo and Cyberlink players. I have CLUE why they're so clunky and seem to almost emulate each other by adding more and more features that I don't want with each release. I had the old NVDVD program and liked it, but obviously when I bought a Radeon card I had to move on to something else. Now I can finally chuck PowerDVD and it's bogged down BS interface. |

If you are having a problem with MPC you may want to seek a solution on its message board. I use it for everything and the Cyberlink codecs are fine with it but are not even necessary for DVD as basic functionality is built in. |

Install ffdshow and make MPC use it with any video format... then customize it with any deblocking or deinterlacing settings in ffdshow. That's the best combination. Don't forget to pickup the new MPC build I made off eDonkey/eMule. The link I have in the forums will no longer work. |
