Nvidia Detonator 5 Drivers Confirmed - Exclusive!

While visiting eVGA forum site, Mark Fox pointed me to a link asking about the Nvidia Detonator 5 drivers. The administrator of the forum, whom ever it is, replied saying that they are still going though quality control test. Is this true and do they actually exist?

Press read more NOW to find out.

So I thought with what The Inquirer thinking that they are coming, and as you know, June 6th came and went, but were they actually on to something? Then I discovered a story off on the Nvidia site say that they will be release some new nForce processor now optimised for the new AMD CPU and Detonator drivers. Here is a snip:
SANTA CLARA, CA ? JUNE 10, 2002 ? Furthering its commitment to the development of innovative, integrated platform technologies, NVIDIAŽ Corporation (Nasdaq: NVDA) today announced that its entire family of nForce? Platform Processors, as well as its Detonator? series of Unified Drivers for the Company?s extensive line of GeForce? Graphics Processing Units (GPUs), have been optimized to take advantage of the new high-performing, .13 micron-process-manufactured AMD Athlon? XP processor 2200+, announced earlier today. Hmmm, seems to me that this is looking truer by the moment, but nahhh, can?t be. Like why would such information just be given away?

Then I decided to contact eVGA myself to find out. When they surprising despite how securely Nvidia like to keep they product development a secret, eVGA replied. In the email they confirmed that the Nvidia Detonator 5 is currently in development and that eVGA are currently doing quality control on the one they have.

So this confirms that they Det 5 does exist, but for the version number, they are keeping tight lipped saying: Quality control can take a while and we do not give out version information before the release because they are subject to change. Far enough I say.

It looks like with the AMD Athlon XP processor 2200+ that is going to released as well as the new nForce processor from Nvidia, we as end users, can soon look forward to some new drivers to play around with too.

Yeah, it seems that Detonator 5 does actually exist although they are not 30.x drivers.

Unfortunatly i cant say more than i already have without risking legal action but i can say the drivers look pretty early in development so i wouldnt expect a final release for a while yet.
