Nvidia builds module using ATI technology

Posted by: Newsfactory on: 11/19/2004 05:35 PM [ Print | 4 comment(s) ] · 2697 views

Fido over at The Inquirer reports a few days ago someone sent me a picture, and it wasn't until I got some face time with the right person that I understood what I was seeing. Now I feel rather silly for not recognizing it right off. What you see below is a NVidia MXM mobile module with and ATI chip in it, and it was taken at a large customer site.

those are ovbiously different PCB's so its not the same board useing 2 different chips. Plus one is green adn the other is red. Also Nvidia doesnt make PCB's MSI , Gainward and ATi do.

they look like the same PCB layout and pin layout... I think that this is a good idea that the companies choose a single standard (like AGP and PCI-E). It just makes it easier.
