There is a very interesting forum thread in the Geforcezone Forums at the moment, a member has posted details from the February issue of a Portuguese publication named "Exame Informática" The article (which is translated to english) claims to know when NVIDIA and ATI are expected to release their next graphic cards. It gives us an idea on how good the cards will be and how they will be promoted. But to be safe, I would keep this a rumor at the moment...

ATI R350 - Successor to the Radeon 9700 Pro (R300), DDR II memory, will most likely be called Radeon 9900 Pro.
NVIDIA NV31 - Successor to the GeForce4 Ti4200, based on the GeForce FX core (NV30), 4 pipelines instead of 8 to reduce costs.
ATI R400 - New high performance core from ATI. Not much is known about it except that it should completely smoke away the Radeon 9700 Pro.
