NV DVD Decoder Petition Update

Posted by: Newsfactory on: 11/04/2004 05:41 PM [ Print | 12 comment(s) ] · 4639 views

As you may remember a petition was drawn up at Petitiononline.com with users stating there distaste for how NV are charging for thier DVD decoder which is apparently needed to get the video acceleration features working on GF6800 Gpus...

Well it seems the petition (which had well over 1000+ signatures) has been mysteriously deleted. :/
Is this nVidia using heavy handed tactics? Or something more innocent, i and i'm sure many others would like to know.

Here is the link to where the petition was...

sorry, but even without the video controller the 6800 iss a better bang for the buck (at least the GT vs PRO)

I will only buy NVIDIA motherboards now. That might change soon too. NVIDIA used to hold its gamers as priority. Especially those who forked out $500 for their newest card and all they got was this im with stupid shirt.

Funny,ATI has NEVER charged for a dvd decoder(as long as the r300 has been out,you had to buy it if you had a 8500 though).

Nv is a copout on this subject
