Here's a piece of news from Anton Shilov at Xbitlabs that should have you Nvidia fans jumping for joy!
Taiwanese media-sources revealed that NVIDIA?s next-generation NV35 graphics processor will be formally announced next-month with actual graphics cards appearing shortly afterwards.
We told you in the past that NVIDIA?s NV35 graphics chip had been taped out by CeBIT Hannover 2003 and was even demonstrated behind the closed doors during the show. Even if it was not the final revision of the chip, I remember NVIDIA claiming that it usually takes the Santa Clara-based fabless semiconductor company about 100 days to start the mass production after the first tape-out (100 Days Tape Out To Production, as NVIDIA calls it)...

I wonder how many 9700 or 9800 Pro owners will sell their card to purchase a nv35 when it is available in June. Most people still believe that the nv35 will deceive as much as the nv30 but those will be probably the first ones to buy the new nv35 It's pretty sure that the nv35 will come out very soon after the announcement since the 0.13 micron manufacturing process is now almost completely under control and the fact that nvidia won't use DDR II anymore for the nv35 will also speed up manufacturing time and price of that card. Speed will be up ahead of the 9800 Pro but the only thing I'm not that sure is how nvidia will get rid of the heat problem of the nv30. When they solve the heat problem, nvidia will have the fastest and feature-richest card for many months... |

Ok, so now they're pre-launching their paper launch that will precede the REAL launch? With "actual graphics cards appearing shortly afterwards"?!? Just like the NV30? C'mon nVidia, you're at the "Put up or shut up!" point...I ain't believing a thing they say until they can back it up. |

well theres no problem with waiting right now because no games really use all the features these new cards have, my ti4200 plays ALL games for me expecially with my new nforce2. But i will look into getting the nv35 when its out. Plus, the nv30 is already out from what i know, msi has released theirs. Havent they? |

reports say that the nv35 is noticeably faster than the 9800 Pro, not just faster. That Stalker news last day is just one example of this |

to those saying Nvidia is doing this too fastjust to get back at ATI try and think about it. If they hadn't run into probs fab'ing the NV 30 chip the card would be out already and the 35 would be on track as due. Seems to me it makes more sense for Nvidia to say okay we will make some NV30's (ie use up whats made/commited) and push forward with the better chip and get that board out on schedule instead of stalling it for a card that isnt getting good market reception and was released late due to Fab probs. |

all the whining will pay off, Nvidia will finally have the 256 bit numbers to pummel the competition, like they always had in the past |

you didn't think Nvidia would just rollover and give up, now did you? You are such a lame-ass fanboy. Every time there is an Nvidia post you have to puke your ridiculous comments onto the rest of us. Get a life, seriously. |
