NV35 is about to be "officially introduced". DigiTimes reported recently that the venue for the launch of NV35 will be Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) which starts 10 days from now. From personal experience, once Nvidia is about to unveil a new product, their engineers will tend to insert the name of that product into the drivers as they are developed. I think you see now where this is going... Read More for the info.
A recent driver that has appeared on Windows Update has revealed much more then Nvidia would have hoped for. It tells us few things.
Nvidia is working on new nForce drivers all the time, despite their official drivers being very old and unstable when it comes to IDE driver for instance. This is now being fixed no doubt and new drivers should be just around the corner although NV35 might have to be unveiled first.
NV35 will be made available in 2 versions ? ?Ultra? and non-ultra of course.
There will be a professional version of NV35 ? code named NV35GL ? and its name will be Quadro FX 3000.
NV35 non-ultra will be called GeForce FX 5900 and faster model of course - GeForce FX 5900 Ultra
In the next two weeks ? we should all know everything Nvidia wants us to know about these new cards that are coming so it?s not long now?
You might have also noticed that recently 50.xx drivers have leaked out through Compaq. These are unfortunately 64-bit only but it's possible that the 32-bit drivers are still in development. Nvidia tends to introduce a brand new revision approximately once a year and if you remember the Detonator 40 driver was unleashed in late August last year.

I think the graphics cards market has become very boring... 6 month cycles have become a cleche & all they do is release a card thats just a wee bit faster then the last... We consumers are in desperate need of a new up & coming major player in this market.. Something to shake up ATI & Nvidia.. Along those same lines I would like to see either Kyro/Power VR technology either bought by ATI, or Nvidia & either incorporated into there products or Kyro/Power VR to build chips with the speeds the FX & 9800s are being released at.... Its a proven technology thats not even being used... Hows sad.. |

Are yea high or daft?!? I think this is one of the most exciting times I can recall in the viddy market! nVidia screwing up so bad, ATi coming on so strong, and now nVidia trying to reclaim it's crown? (Well, if not win back the crown at LEAST get us all to stop laughing and making jokes about 'em. Dude, it is a seriously cool time to be alive if your a geek! |

bleh!!! I am just getting a little bored with the new releases that are only a little bit faster then the board before... I want some1 to release a fricken card that at the very least 2 times better then the card before it.... Its a joke anymore... As far as the latest ATI/Nvidia scuffle... It really didn't make any impression on me.. Nvidia isn't going anywhere & the 5800 was a minor bump in the road.. It only showed how relaxed they had become with releasing a new card every 6 months that could only eck out 50 more fps accross the board.. Personally I don't think the speed improvements by either card makers warrent me or any1 else shelling out 400+ bucks every 6 months for such a tiny bit of increase in power.. Save the release for something that makes every1 go (WOW!!!) I will say that Nvidia brought a knife to a gun fight last time but it was really just a monir bump in the life of Nvidia.. There Mobo's alone make up for any such video card debacles.. Just 1 mans opinion... Seems I can't serf the net without seeing new release this, preview that, & benchmarks that really do not make my jaw drop.. Think about it.. Doom3 will be out I think by the end of the year & I don't think any of the current cards will run it with 60+ fps at all times.. Thats a bit scary I think... |

You're talking to a guy who just picked up a GF4 ti4400 for $100us! No, the high-end is still as pricey as ever...but the cards most people are buying are getting damned reasonable and the performance is killer! |

Will it be as loud as the other FX cards from nvidia??? Or will these new NV35 cards have a more quiet cooling solution?? |
