No 1080p PS3 Games Yet, Says Sony

The PlayStation 3 may be capable of 1080p, but there are no games that support it right now. The company also clarifies the importance of HDMI for its self-styled full HD.

Umm...Gran Turismo HD was never a launch title...and they clearly stated at E3 that the GTHD demo at E3 was exactly that, a DEMO.

It was GT4 updated and running at a higher resolution. At no point did Sony say "this is the version of GT that you will get when it comes out."

Even with the PS2 they used a modified version of GT2 as a tech demo and called it GT2000.

Get your head out of your ass...

1080i doesn't require a special cable. 1080i is delivered over component cables that every HDTV has now. 1080p resolution (as far as I know) requires the HDMI cable and a 1080i capable resolution.

By the time the 360 came out, there were more 1080i capable TVs on t he market then there are 100p TVs now.

As a future PS3 owner(ordered one) and a bit in the know about video formats/new tech it's not really a bit deal

Right now most people who have bought the 360/PS3 don't have the hardware anyway to actually view 1080p video

Besides that it's just a matter of time before we will have 1080p games and by then more people will also have the hardware to view it

I don't know if you guys noticed it but if you see GT HD version screens you still see many straight lines like in the early days, no nice curved services

I would be more worried about that, realism is not only about the resolution, far from that
