Another new Winamp 3 Update has been released plus a new Plug-ins Update and MPC plugin! And i found out here that Winamp 2.81 has includes all latest binaries and has no further work planned in the output plugin section.
(So could this mean that Winamp 2.81 is the latest of the 2.xx Series?) Click on Read More... for more information about the plugins & download links



The files are dated 25-08-2002 and here is some info: The regular Update has critical updates The Plugin Update has critical updates/fixes + Winamp2 input plugin support + SPC format support + diskwriter. People who know that site knows that he perodically worked on the output plugins for winamp2 and often he had betas on his site for versions that will go into future winamp versions. For example the crossfader was there a good month or two before it was put in the official release. Hes saying that he wont be working on output plugins from here on out. This dosnt necessarly mean that there will be no further winamp 2 development.

The plugins are very importent for WinAmp.. without them.. it doesn't work but the program may have some bugs or something like that.. so indeed the Winamp 2 project can continue.. but i hope they give more time on Winamp 3..

Also PP's plugins are not 100% PP's plugins: He works 'only' on the plugins and other people help him (or Nullsoft and him?) to improve the plugins (e.g. 'in_mod.dll' - Winamp 2.81 contains beta14, in the Winamp forums you can get beta15). But, why he removed the plugin package? Chaos
