New Virus Warning

New mass mailing virus, Winevar-A, is spreading round the web. This one's nasty - it will delete your files, and insult you. Some versions will execute automatically without opening the email.

Virus details from Trendmicro The worm changes the ownership information in the computer's registry, kills antivirus programs, and infects the victim machine with the Funlove virus. It also mails itself to the user's e-mail contacts. But that's not all... It gets worse. The next time the machine is booted, the worm displays a dialogue box with an insulting message: "What a foolish thing you have done!" When the dialogue box is dismissed, the worm attempts to delete all the files on the hard disk. Source: ExtremeTech

This Virus is indeed very dangerous !!

Solution might be to deactivate ActiveX Command set in IE and/or do not use Outlook for E-mails

Should be no problem with Mozilla or Opera if you have an Antivirus program checking all E-Mails with recent signature files

It's necessary to get all security updates for your IE from Windowsupdate !! > there are a lot of them and you need all !
