Bluesnews.com reports that Activision sends news that they plan on releasing a new version 1.02 patch for Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory later today. The update will improve server stability to "help to remedy unexpected server timeouts" and will also include the updated version of Even Balance's PunkBuster anti-cheating software.
Gamers Hell reports that Valve today announced that a new Half-Life update, including Counter-Strike 1.6 and a new version of Team Fortress Classic will be released later tonight via Steam. Players should beware you will require a valid Half-Life or Half-Life: Counter-Strike CD Key in order to install the update. All players will be assigned new "Steam IDs" and the WONID system will slowly be phased out.

The new rules and restrictions Steam is going to enforce is pretty lame. It may seriously cripple the Half Life community! This Pay to play for Half Life 2 doesnt seem fair either. I Dont think HL2 will be as sucessful as HL if they are going to use pay to play. I am going to be F00ked when the net goes down here, so much for creating and playing against Bots in games. No net = no lan game to play on :/ |
