CD Freaks.com reports that a new DVD copy protection is available on the market. The protection is based on a ring of unreadable sectors and can't be beaten with the usual tools. However there are already some tricks to circumvent the protection and software updates are announced as well. Intresting is also that the movies are not protected with the usual CSS as well but only rely on the easily beaten unreadable sector protection. Also intresting that unreadable sectors have been 'usual' on CD copy protections for a long time now and now make their first appearance on DVDs. On CDs the protections have improved a lot over the years, we're likely up to the same for DVDs...

Lol? Now they start to break dvd's too? Luckily Internet at least works. Don't have to buy those POS anymore either. They did same with cd's, and now they do it with dvd's. |
