Is there any chance of an update for 98SE users? I've been fighting with both an AIW 8500DV and AIE 7500, and can't get either to record. After hearing about this and other issues with SBlive! cards, I have ordered a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz card to replace the SBlive, but I have a second PC with a second SBlive, and would rather not have to buy a second alternate sound card.

While people say the AIW 8500DV can wotk with 98SE using the ME drivers, it don't here. Watching TV is great, but the second I tough record the MMC 7.5/7.6 versions both instantly crash with an illegal instruction dialog. Unfortunately, the AIW 7500 that I bought in the hopes of having a usable recorder give me the exact same problem, watching TV is great but instantly crashes on record with an illegal instruction error. And the 7500 claims to officially support the 98SE relase. Ugh.

Hell, I even tried using Windows 2000 on that other PC with the 8500DV, and it won't work either. I'm hoping it's the SBlive and not the K6-2 and K6-2Plus CPUs not being Athlons. I even disabled the firewire on the 8500DV but that made no difference either.

I'll probably find out if my sound card replacement hopes are satisfied on Tuesday, but this really sucks, and after a couple months I'm rather disgruntled. I have reason to use Radeon cards instead of other possibilities, but this really sucks that they don't work.
