It has already been know for almost a year now that the R520 will support SM3.0.

ATI can't do otherwise than finally follow nvidia.

Not like they missed the boat by not having it till this coming gen. I can't even think of a hand full of big name games that have utilized SM3.0 .

Well, at least there is one excellent game where you will miss most graphical features if you don't have SM3.0 support on your card: SCCT.

That was no fault of ATi's. Ubisoft coded it to use SM1.1 or SM3.0, "Only". And for what it was worth it really wasn't a show stopper. Not sure what the reasoning was for not including 2.0 ? Conspiracy theories abound..

No matter how good it is, it's just one.

One game. Out of how many released since SM 3.0 was hyped as the "must-have" feature over 14 months ago?

Unbelievable that some people try to justify a handful of games as the reason to criticize ATI for not having a feature that the vast majority of PC game developers were NOT ready to support....
