Following on from Degger's story from yesterday the AMD Athlon XP Processor driver update that is showing up on Microsoft Windows Update website but a few peeps had problems download it?

Is it just me or does the date of this update older than the one that comes bumdled with XP SP1?? This 5.1.2600.28 is dated back in July 2001 whereas the SP1 version (5.1.2600.00) is dated July 2002. Is there something wrong here?? LOL |

Yeah, funny isn't it? Anyway, I checked the download and it is dated March 2002. So, it looks like the SP1 version is the latest...I guess someone at Microsoft screwed up when the where naming the driver numbers.... My two cents. |

This update was issued as a SpeedStep/PowerNOW! Update. Any performance increase is not known. |

This one is OLD. I downloaded it from AMD's homepage ages ago. It's dated 2001-08-29, version 5.1.2600.28. |
