Papyrus has published the new demo of their great Nascar Racing 2002 game. This Direct3D based racing sim has built-in support for anisotropic texture filtering and a handy frame rate counter which can be used to fine tune your graphics settings.

direct3d doesn't look as good as opengl. give me opengl support. nascar 4 looks better than 2002. my radeon 8500 doesn't do direct3d that good. |

Although, it is possible that this desision was made by Papyrus on the basis that Direct3D is more widely supported by the majority than opelGL... (please don't flame, it was only a theory) |

Did i bad mouth you? No, i did not. Don't flame me cos I looked at the bigger picture and probably the best option for a games company. The majority of users out there in gaming land are more likely to be running D3D compatible systems. I know that most systems are also compatible with openGL, but in this modern world, DirectX systems are more recognised by the average Joe than openGL But as always, that is my opinion and is not fact based in anyway...I really should look this stuff up so i can back my opinions up! Oh well, laters! |
