Microsoft To Pull Windows XP From The Market?

Microsoft Corp. plans to argue in court hearings next week that if antitrust sanctions sought by state prosecutors are granted, the company would be forced to pull its latest Windows computer operating systems off the market and be unable to develop new systems. Read more...

In court filings late Friday, the company said the recently released consumer operating system, Windows XP, and the business-oriented Windows 2000 system could not be redesigned to satisfy state demands that they be made available in separate versions, with and without key programs, such as the Internet Explorer Web browser. The states, in a filing Friday, plan to argue that Microsoft's claims are a "doomsday defense" and that such separation is not only feasible but essential to remedying Microsoft's antitrust violations and restoring software competition. Uh really? Well actually you can quite easily remove the Windows messenger for instance... This story appears courtesy of Newsbytes/The Washington Post

Well they are of course lying (exaggerating), but when they do pull windows XP and windows 2000 off the market will probably also mean no more support. Since there are quite a few issues to be solved (and new security threats discovered every day) that would not be a ‘good thing’…

And of course if MS pulls windows of the market there will be large open gap that Linux could fill, so MS will have no choice but to release Office for Linux ;-)

Yea right, as if...

The other guys can´t make such a good OS like MS allways does, Maybe it has some flaws but soo as Linux with the constant updates and other OS´s.

I use Windows XP and Red Hat Linux 7.2 i like both but one thing is certain, Who are against MS, it´s bicause they can´t make one OS that includes everything similar to what MS includes in their OS.

For me MS Windows is still the best, unfortunelly it´s too expensive, and it´s the only thing that i have against them. :P
