ZdNet Report:
NEW YORK--Microsoft, seeking a foothold in the Internet search business, approached Google within the last two months to discuss a partnership or even a merger, The New York Times said on Friday
Microsoft may still be interested in pursuing the Web search company at a later date, the report said, citing an executive briefed on the discussion, though its recent advances gained little traction.
The report, quoting company executives and others briefed on the discussions, said Google indicated it was more interested in pursuing an initial public offering.

Face it, with all due respect, if Google sells out to MS, it wouldn't be surprising. Microsoft has a rather convincing stockpile of cash if it really wants something bad enough..... |

Sigh..god I hope they dont sell out to MS. I ended up changing my homepage from msn.com to google.com after the page started taking 5 min to load with all the crap on there. I can already imagine.. Within a few weeks of Google being bought out by MS - the layout would take on some sickening blue "XP" look. Sigh..that greedy company knows Google gets more hits than their search engine, so they have to buy out the competition. Bastards! |
