I was just over @ Computerbase.de, when I spotted there Microsoft plans Windows XP SP1a and SP1b news. Here's a quick translation as the site's in German.
Microsoft plans to publish still in February the service luggage 1a for Windows XP. The service luggage 1a is identical to that already for a long time published service luggage 1, only that Sun Microsystem`s Java is integrated. The service luggage 1b will then follow in June and contains a newer version of Java. Microsoft plans these steps, in order to become a court decision fairly, that mentioned that Microsoft must have integrated at the latest 120 days after 21 January this yearly the Java run time environment by means of a service of luggage.
Update: Just got word that you may also get more info @ Neowin.net.

Personally I think the Judge was wrong to make it required of MS to do this in the 1st place. If Sun wants it out then let them put it up on their site and have ppl dl from them not force MS to put out ANOTHER SP just so Sun gets to more ppl/gets free exposure. Fine that Sun complains MS didnt bundle a newer version of their stuff but let sun distribute it if they feel its better and let ppl get it from them...I don't need some judge to force it on me via MS. |

I do not want Sun's Java on my machine. Last time I installed it, my machine started infinite looping and even when it worked it was slow. |

Totally agree. I've installed Sun Java on Win98, 2k, and XP, and after installing, it's nearly impossible to get java to work correctly. |
