Maxtor Maxboost utility

Posted by: Newsfactory on: 10/12/2003 10:52 PM [ Print | 11 comment(s) ] · 6780 views

MaxBoost is performance-boosting driver software for Microsoft Windows 2000 and XP that is designed to complement your Maxtor ATA or SATA hard drive. The MaxBoost driver intelligently caches data in the host system RAM before it is written to and read from the Maxtor disk drive, optimizing the effective storage speed of your system in a variety of applications.

I just noticed this thread on viaarena forums:

Unfortunately, the utility isn't available for download anymore.

Check Maxtor's official link for more info!

This is somewhat old news, however i run the trial Maxboost for a month and didnt notice any real improvement in performance whatsoever. Allthough for running the trial i got a 10% discount voucher off Maxtor HD from their online store, but by the time you added shipping to the UK (USA Store) it wasent worth it, i can buy the same HD from a UK retailer (inc delivery) for £25 less...!
