Along with finally providing an answer to the question of which player will be picked first in the 2005 NFL Draft, the first hour of ESPN's Draft coverage on Saturday, April 23, will also give the world its first look at the next generation of videogames -- Madden NFL football will make its next generation debut in a TV ad airing within the first hour of the broadcast, which begins at 12:00pm ET / 9am PT.

Considering in the past it's been the oppostie, I wouldn't be surprised to see that change again. Keep in mind that the 2K games are rooted with Sega and go all the way back to Joe Montana Football. Madden has been more consistent over the years, but recently have just been repackaging the same game. |

Visual Concepts Formerly an independent development studio working on titles such as early versions of EA's Madden NFL and Sega's Floigan Brothers, the company was picked up by SEGA following its success with the SEGA Sports 2K franchise. Visual Concepts was later restructured within the company to develop sports titles exclusively, and became the major development/producing arm on the ESPN Videogames brand and videogame franchise. After competing head-to-head with publishing giant Electronic Arts, SEGA withdrew from sports publishing after EA locked up the NFL and ESPN licenses in late 2004/early 2005. SEGA sold Visual Concepts and its Kush Games subsidiary to Take Two for $24 million in January 2005. *from Gamespy* I remember the PC game Joe Montana Football by SEGA. But I read somewhere the developer was MindSpan, Canadian developer famous for Hardball baseball series, published by Accolade. |
