Kyro 3 Plans Uncovered @ Datafuse.net

Since I wrote the Kyro 3 story. I've received quite some input on the matter.

It now seems Nvidia is the owner of tile-based rendering, and that would mean that we might one day see a GeForce model with a tremendous performance boost, if Nvidia manages to integrate the technology into their GPU's.

No way nVidia would do that. Tile Based rendering is just to smart a way to go. nVidia would never do anything so good.

Ok, that was a good one.

I'm just waiting for the Baron to show up and start creaming his pants over the possibility of TBDR coming. :)

I'd imagine that it would be too difficult for them to integrate it into their desktop line of GPU's but there's a slim chance that they would use it with mobile products which would benefit from it much more (keep power/heat down and performence up).

true.. but in the future, all cards should have it.

Seeing as overdraw will increase as games get more complex, TBR will offer huge increases in speed. It would be stupid not to use it.

Nvidia owning TBR is huge.. that would be like one company owning FSAA or antialiasing...
