Sharman Networks, owners of the ancient Kazaa p2p software, have been handed an ultimatum: start filtering copyrighted material by Dec. 5th, or die.

Eh...it's been on the wane for years anyway.
Even using the lite version of the software is pretty pointless seeing how often it's flooded with fake MP3's and trojans disguised as something else.
Limewire (and it's gnutella offspring) pulls better results and downloads faster, but has the same problems.
If you want reliable P2P, you've likely moved on to BT and torrent host sites, or you're sticking to the ultra-reliable but slow as hell eDonkey servers.
